Glass knitting needles?
The glass they use is the same as Pyrex. They’re not indestructible, but with regular use, they would be okay.
DH is a material scientist, I asked him a while ago what he thought about using them. He said there wouldn’t be a problem as long as you weren’t hard on them. He also said they were pretty expensive in regard to what it probably costs them to manufacture, but then again things are worth what others are willing to pay.
He promised to make me some, but the excitement of that promise has worn off with age. :rollseyes:

I would be too nervous even with pyrex. I’ve broken a fair amount of pyrex in my day.
They are really pretty, but what if I did break one! What a tragedy!! They might be kind of heavy to knit with… :??
On the other hand, they would look great sticking out of some yarn in my knitting basket!

I’m too much of a klutz for glass needles! I think I’d be better off with the plastic ones with the Star Wars light saber LED effects.
I love the way the glass knitting needles look, but I would have to leave them on a shelf as decoration. I have bad luck with pyrex…pyrex explodes.
I looked at these in person at Stitches last year. they are VERY pretty, but expensive, and as much as I would love to buy them and put them on display, 1) CV would laugh and then kinda get mad at me for wasting money and he sorta be right 2) they’d just blend in to my messy house anyway.
