Might depend on where you live, but… a nice hat or scarf is always good and both are pretty fast.
You could get some really good nubbly cotton and make a luxurious wash cloth if he likes to use them.
I made this on for hubby. It looks complicated, but I was surprised at how easy it was. AND if you do it all in one color, it goes very quickly. The entrelac offers texture for even the simplest yarn.
