Giant toad in my yard!

I was sitting in my office when I saw movement outside of the window. At first I thought maybe it was a baby rabbit but upon further investigatin it was this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cane_Toad It hissed a few times at me and chased me a bit before I finally got a picture of it.

Are you sure that’s a toad. It looks really weird.:noway:

He’s kind of hunkered down, he was scared of ME! :teehee: His head is tucked in up by my toes.

WOW! And that guy is not supposed to be in Florida…

 It hissed??! Holy moly…

Yeah, some brainiac thought it would be a good idea to introduce them into the sugar cane fields of South Florida like they did in Australia. Problem is, it failed in Australia and here, they have such a huge appetite that they eat all the natives in their path and whorf down all the food for those that they don’t eat. Toadzilla!
He hissed a few more times and hopped under the fence into my neighbor’s yard. :teehee:

A hissing toad? Holy moly!

that toad is :ick: :zombie: :ick: , but your pedi looks nice

I really hope they don’t hop up to Alabama.

Don’t you love it when a tiny little thing like that tries to give you a hard time…smiles

I don’t think I would get anywhere near a toad, lol.

The best way to take care of that toad is to capture him , place him in a plastic bag and place in your freezer for 24 hours. They are considered an invasive species and need to be eradicated. Freezing it is the best way to do that, keeps them from reproducing any more.

Holy macaroni! If I had come upon that unexpectly - - -:passedout:

:thud:

YIKES! Now that’s a BIG toad! My kids would be impressed :teehee:

Don’t they bite? Having it so close gives me the goosebumps! :ick: :ick:

Wow, that is one GIANT toad!! I can’t believe they hiss  … that would freak me out a little bit :ick: I think and I have never minded frogs or toads.

No can do, there’s too many of them to eradicate in Florida and I’m not big on killing animals I don’t eat and I’m not eatin’ him! :teehee:

Are you wearing Reef flip-flops in that photo? If so, dontcha just love them!

:teehee: No, they’re Teva “mush” flip flops. I have dress flip flops, casual flip flops and bum around the yard flip flops. I know they’re bad for my feet but I wear them 12 months out of the year here. I just bought a pair of Crocs flip flops.
*runs out to search for new Reef flip flops…
