German Short Row for a shawl

I am knitting my first shawl! And this is my first time doing german short rows…

The instructions say:

Short row A (RS): k to last st, turn.
Short row B (WS): ds, k to last st, turn.

Repeat the following 4 short rows 18 times
Short row 1 (RS): ds, (k1, p1) to 1 st bef ds, turn.
Short row 2 (WS): ds, (p1, k1) to 1 st bef ds, turn.

Short row 3: ds, k to 1 st bef ds, turn.
Short row 4: ds, k to 1 st bef ds, turn.

My questions are:
For short rows A and B - do I knit until there are no stitches left on my left needle (and then turn)? Or I knit until there is one stitch left on my left needle (and then I turn)?

Similarly, for the numbered rows - do I knit that until there is one stitch before the previous double stitch on my leftneedle? Or do I knit the stitch before the double stitch, so now the immediate next stitch on my left needle is the ds and then I turn?

What is the name of your pattern?

For A & B, knit up to the last stitch (one stitch remaining on the left hand needle), then turn.
For the numbered rows knit until there is one stitch before the previous double stitch and turn.

Enjoy the adventure of your first shawl!
