While looking for Paton’s stretch sock yarn in my Mary Maxim catalog, on page 17 (spring 2011) I found a free knit knee high sock pattern. Requires 3 balls on 3.25 mm needles. I tried to find it on their web page but couldn’t get past the sign-in page. stupid password thing. Have a look, you are probably better at this computer thing than I am. They are good looking plain socks but I’m guessing that is all you need under slacks.
