Gauge question

i’m still trying to get the hang of gauge before i do an article of clothing. :??

so when you’re getting ready to check the gauge do you go by the gauge on the pattern as what you’re trying to achieve or the gauge on the yarn? know what i mean?

go by the gauge on the pattern…it may even suggest doing the gauge swatch in a particular stitch
