Gauge issues

horizontal is dead on… 22 sts to 4" but vertical I’m getting 26 rows to 4" rather than 24… do I just do a few extra rows to compensate?

The pattern says in several places to work until it measures “desired length” so I suppose I could compensate easily enough. Should I go up a needle size or let it be and add a few rows?

As you found on this pattern, generally row gauge isn’t as important as stitch gauge because most patterns say to work for X inches rather than rows. So go ahead with what you get and keep your tape measure handy.
