Gauge adjustment for different yarn

I tried 3 times to knit a baby hat with Sensations Beautiful yarn which calls for size 10.5 needle, but my pattern calls for size 4 needle. Is there any way to adjust for a yarn of preference once you find the pattern you love?

Each time I frog the hat, the yarn gets uglier, my mood too.

Here is a calculator for knitting an existing pattern at a different gauge. It will involve some calculations but it’s really not that hard, especially for something small like a baby hat.
