i looked before starting this thread, but didn’t see a previous Q&A about this specifically…
i’m going to try a sock that has garter stitch toe and heel, as i’ve been reading about their durability, and also the look is fun for breaking up plain stockinette…
this will be done in the round, (not sure if magic loop or 2 circs yet) so when i’m doing the increases, will i need to alternate kfb with pfb, or if i choose the m1 style, is there an m1 for knit rounds and an m1 for purl rounds? (i can already hear GG chuckling at me purling entire rounds).
trying to get my info for this written down so i know what i’m doing ahead of time, instead of frogging back half a foot, so any info is appreciated

Is this what you want? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WLQ9qXa88k
Not :teehee: that you are purling. I think it’s fantastical! I did :teehee: when I thought about posting a link to a Continental style video.
that’d do it, for sure… will give me some options depending on what side i’m working with. thank you!
I’d do kfb myself. Why? I find it the easiest one to do and IMO works well in GS. Have fun. I think I need to start another pair of sox. Maybe I’ll try the GS toe and heel. As I only increase every other round I could do all increases on the knit rounds.
yeah, that’s all in the decision making still to do for me… do i increase on knit rows, or purl rows, or both, and which type of increase looks better, etc. you should try them… i found 2 fun recipe-type patterns on ravelry. one is called ‘interlocked’ and has a fun instep/leg design and i could substitute a garter toe/heel with it (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/fibernymph/interlocked) and the other is ‘garter toes’ with garter toes and (surprise!) garter heel (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/kittin/garter-toes).
