Frustrating beret

Okay, so I made this beret for my sis and I sorta did it UTTERLY AND COMEPLETELY WRONG. So I frogged it and started over. sounds simple… well it worked out but the crown is in a cone shape. I blocked it and now I’m blocking it again. Is there something I’m doing wrong? I’m blocking it with a dinner plate. please tell me there is hope.:pray:

Are the increases giving you the size circle that you’d like? If not, it could be that you need to increase to a larger diameter circle.
If the cone is starting at the widest part and sloping up to a point, you may have to decrease more rapidly than the pattern is directing. Maybe decreasing every 15sts to begin the decrease rounds will flatten out that peak.
