When I get to Row 5 I end up with 3 extra stitches, which from looking at Row 6 is wrong. I should still have 17 stitches after Row 5, correct?
I can’t figure out what I’m doing incorrectly? I’m starting to lose it! LOL,
Thank you in advance!
You’re doing 3 yo’s which will increase your count 3 sts. Are you also doing the corresponding k2tog’s which will decrease 3 sts and give you a net count of 17 at the end of the row?
On row 5 you have 6 yarn overs and you have 3 double decreases. The 6 yarn overs increase the stitch count by 6 and the double decreases decrease 2 sts at a time (6 sts dec). You need to slip one stitch, k2tog and then pass the slipped stitch over the stitch on the right hand needle (this stitch is the one that was made by the k2tog). See if this video helps. That could be the source of the 3 extra sts.
 I could have sworn that the pattern was wrong, me poor brain :roflhard: If you are just looking at Row 5, I charted it, and it all checks out; you should have 17 stitches at the end of Row 5.
Try this sequence, if you are still coming out with the wrong number of stitches, you’ll need to check your work, stitch by stitch, to determine where you’ve gone wrong.
