From Sheep to Purse

Hello fellow spinners!

I just wanted to post a photo of the first complete project I ever did. I washed, carded and spun the wool, dyed it with Kool-Aid, and then knit this little purse. I use it to carry mints and gum in my pocketbook. It was fun!

Here’s the pattern:

So cool! Is it plied? If not, that is an impressive single, no bias or anything!

yay!!! :cheering: :cheering:

ok i have to ask a dumb question…what is plied??? :??

Thanks Arugula! It’s not plied. It’s a single - I was too impatient to ply anything!

Koolbreeze, plied means you get two or more strands of spun yarn and twist them together. If you look at store-bought yarn, you’ll see some of them are two-ply or three-ply, etc.

thanks

This is so cool!!! I want my own sheep farm so I can love my sheep and they grow wool from that love and I shave them off with love and spin it up and knit it and make yummy things and give them to my friends and they can wear my love forever.

:roflhard:

Kum-ba-yaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
:roflhard:

That’s AWESOME, Carolina Red! I’m jealous!

Congratulations! That’s the ultimate for a spinner/knitter… knitting something from the wool you washed and spun. What a little treasure!

:cheering: Yay, that’s so cool!! Congratulations!!!

That is the ultimate in cool Sandy! I’m really impressed (and ever-so-slightly jealous). Congratulations on making something completely your own. :happydance:
