Here’s a curious thing. Helping a friend with a loopy mango vest pattern. Starts with rib. CO 41 sts. Working flat. The back first. 6 rows in rib. Now start stockinette and in parentheses it says 44. Where did those 3 sts come from!? Kind of weird. No other instructions. The front has a 4 sts repeat pattern so 44 makes sense for the front but she’s on the back. Sigh. Oh well no biggy. We’ll just cast on multiple of 4 for front. Would you just ignore it or frog and cast on 44 for back too? ![]()

Hmm, curious. I can understand the front perhaps having a different stitch count than the back due to a pattern stitch but not the sudden appearance of a new stitch count.
If you can, you might check the gauge for the pattern stitch vs stockinette to see if the stitch numbers yield the same measurement.
What is the name of the loopy mango vest pattern?
Maby you need to add that 3 stitches after ribs rows spreading them through first stockinette row?

Yes. I think I’ll do that. Thanks!
