Free pattern

Another designer on Ravelry, Laura Aylor, is giving away a free pattern in celebration of her birthday. I’ve listed her post below, which has the code needed to obtain the free pattern. She has some really beautiful patterns, especially her shawl patterns, and it was hard to choose but I eventually selected Litchfield. I’ll probably buy Stella Luna in the future. Please note this offer has a time limit!

Thank you! I got the e-book with two scarf patterns called Oak Park and All Shades of the Truth! It was hard to choose, but the stained glass look caught my eye and I’m more likely to wear a scarf than shawl.

How do you find all these?!

Thank you for posting this. I got Serra because it’s cute, it’s seamless, and it has set-in sleeves. This is a technique I really want to learn. This knit should prove interesting. From the pattern:

The beginning of this cardigan requires careful attention to directions. At one point you are doing front edge increases, sleeve increases, and armscye increases on both the fronts and the back all at the same time.

I really hope I’m up to it.

Luck?? :slight_smile: Actually, they have been posted in several different forums on Ravelry that I belong to and I have been fortunate enough to see them soon after they are posted (or it could be that I have no life and spend too much time on forums).

It is such a smart idea to do a give-away on the designer’s part because I have been introduced to designers I probably would not have been exposed to without the freebie. Brilliant!

Thank you for the link! I got the Teaberry baby blanket. I make so many baby blankets for charity I try not to pay for patterns so I can buy more yarn.

Can you tell me how to get the free pattern? it says to type in HappyBday at checkout. I haven’t ever checked out of Ravelry…is it the same as log off?

You click on the Buy button, then there’s a place for the code (there might be an “apply” button), it takes the price of the pattern away and you get your free d/l. It will tell you it’s stored somewhere on Ravelry for you, and you get an email.

Yes, just pretend you’re going to buy it then there is a spot to put the code and then click apply.

I actually had Teaberry on my favorites and may still buy it at some point.

I just found out when I joined her group that the sleeves are of a “seamless set in” type. I have wanted to do that so I may purchase and do this sometime. After I get the other myriad things done I need to do. :zombie:

Apparently she realizes that it can be confusing and so she is handling questions on the forum. That sounds a lot different from the h*** spawn designer ArtLady was talking about. I’m in no rush so if you get ready to knit it by the time I figure out what yarn I’m using (who knows how long that will take?) and I also get a few things taken care of, maybe we can KAL it. If anyone else is interested…well, misery loves company after all. :teehee: Those sleeves should be worth learning but it could be a real challenge. :roflhard: The very thing I want to learn is what’s helping me stall. Go figure.

I think I might actually buy the book she mentions, [I]Knitting From The Top[/I].

I have that book. It’s a good one, but be aware it’s paperback and its mostly text and drawings, even the patterns. I think there is one photo in black and white. The original copyright is 1972. There are lots of basic patterns
