Knit until work measures 4.5"
Next row: (K7, K2tog) around
Next row: Knit

Next row: Knit

it looks sorta like the flapper hat too! you could do an eyelet row a little ways up the hat and thread a ribbon through it. good way to resize the hat too if it is still just a little bit big for the head it is going on.
wouldn’t do that though if it is being used as a chemo cap though…ribbon would be too itchy.
Brendajos, I think I saw this sort of hat with the ribbon like you were describing somewhere on the free patterns page right here on KH. Can’t remember who designed it, but I’d say great minds must think alike.
it is a lion brand pattern…it is called the flapper hat. super easy but keeping all those stitches on the needle to begin with is a bit of a pain! :shock:

i must say that i LOVE how ruffly it is on the littler hat though. i may have to get out my hat makin’ stuff again if i ever finish this blasted project i am working on now!
