Fottman popping on country craftsman wheel

Hi, I’ve recently returned to spinng after about a 20 years “pause”,everthing is starting to come back to me EXCEPT my footman keeps popping when it reaches the top and nothing I have tried to adjust seems to eleminate this. Has anyone else had this issue. I don’t remember this happening before. Thanks for any info
