FOs: Twisted Flower and Cabled BFF socks

I went on a Cookie A binge!

First I did her BFF socks (free pattern on her site: www.cookiea.com ) in this dark, slightly variegated no-name yarn from Dream in Color -http://flickr.com/photos/55055617@N00/697162852/in/set-72157600200650665/. I love this yarn - I hope they start selling it at Fringe (where they dye DIC yarn). Anyway, here are the socks: http://flickr.com/photos/55055617@N00/853490870/.

And I [I]finally [/I]finished her Twisted Flower socks in Louet Gems in Sage - they took forever! Knowing how to cable w/o a cable needle is essential for this pattern. It probably would have taken me twice as long without it. I tried to take a picture of the heel flap, because that’s the coolest part, but was unsuccessful. Maybe I’ll try again tomorrow, after stretching out a little. :lol:http://flickr.com/photos/55055617@N00/853491028/

What do you think? Got any ideas for the next sock?

THANKS!! I LOVE Cookie’s patterns! Although the pattern always looks incredibly challenging, the way she writes them is mathematically elegant, so it actually winds up being easier than it looks.

I tell her that she’s a sock-genius, but she doesn’t believe me.

Oh wow, I am so impressed! I was disappointed when the pictures didn’t work because I really thought they sounded great, but they actually look ever better than they sounded! Amazing work :smiley:

The links worked for me! WOW those are beautiful socks! Hope I can one day make such gorgeous socks! I’m finally venturing out of the bog standard sock in three sizes to try something a bit different. The ones you have here are just stunning!

I brought them in to the LYS where I bought the Louet Gems, and they liked them so much they put them on display!!! If i decide to let them keep the socks, I get reimbursed for the yarn PLUS 1.5 times the yarn cost in store credit - to buy more yarn!!

What should I do? To keep, or to buy more yarn?

The owner of the LYS told me yesterday that ever since my socks went on display, they’ve sold out of the pattern and have a waiting list for more. Wow.

yeah, i just had a look at your Lorna’s Laces stash… the Vera colour is to die for… have you made anything with it?? I’d love to see a finished product to see the colours!!
