*FOs* FT Clogs and hat made from leftover yarn

Hi guys,

Here are a couple FOs I recently did. The clogs were a blast to make. They are for DH and now I need to make me some!!! The doggie in the picture has had 2 surgeries in a week to fix a knee and we still don’t know if it worked, but he still wanted to be in the picture.

I just made the hat from the leftover clog yarn for DH too. He refused to let me post a picture of him, so I ended up modeling it. LOL I made it up as I went along and didn’t use a pattern.

I used Lamb’s Pride worsted in Old Sage and Wild Oak. I love Lamb’s Pride!

Those look great! Your husband’s hat looks cute on you, you should keep it since he doesn’t want to be photographed in it…

DH says he’ll “share” the hat with me. LOL

The doggie is getting better from surgery, but we just don’t know if the surgery has “fixed” the problem. We’ll get x-rays in about a month and hopefully that will give us an idea. Right now, his only problem is that he wants to run and jump and play, but he can’t. Poor guy! We are doing the best we can to keep him entertained and somewhat exercised. He’s not bearing weight on the splinted leg, so we aren’t too strict with keeping him laying down all the time.

Fabulous projects and adorable dog! The picture of you is also great and I’m jealous since I, myself, am horribly un-photogenic!

Where did you find the pattern for the clogs? I think I saw this asked before but I don’t recall the answer. Please don’t tell me you winged those as well as the hat!! :lol:

Great pix! You do look NICE in that hat! I love the clogs. The color is really nice. I FINALLY got my FT clog pattern after I dunno, almost a year of refusing to order it online coz I didn’t want to pay $5 shipping. Every yarn store in NY and even other places didn’t have it but I just happened
to find it last week at a new yarnshop PurlSoho.
I’m so excited! Maybe having to wait was ok after all.

I live in northern NJ and have heard about that store…I don’t head into the city much, but was thinking that store might give me a good reason to venture in. Aside from getting the clog pattern, were there lots of other goodies there?

Well PurlSoho is the tiniest shop I think I’ve ever been in. But they are so nice there! It’s worth checking out for fun, and there’s some great places to eat around there. They have a website if you want to check their prices. A little on the high side but same as most places in town. Have you ever been at Seaport Yarn? That is one crazy place. She has EVERYTHING and then some. Room after room. It’s whacko. It’s in a former office in an old office building down near Wall Street.

The Yarn Co on Broadway & 82 (my neighborhood) has some really nice stuff too. Esp when they’re having their sale. I used to think they were too high priced but then I saw they have the lowest price on Manos del Uruguay… most shops charge $14, 15, 14.50 but they charge $12.50. As you can tell, I shop around a lot!

I’ll have to arrange a field trip with my knitting pal across the street. These sound like a lot of great places to check out while enjoying the city.

Last month she took me to a mill in Paterson that is only open to the public once a month. They sell yarns (priced by the POUND) that are wound on cones (some skeins) and generally used for machine knitting. Neither of us have a machine, but she’s hand knit some amazing garments by combining several fibers.

If I ever finish this :zzz: afghan, I’ll get busy with the stuff I bought there.
