FOs: Cabled Purse, Lucy, & Booties

I’ve neglected to post any pictures… so here are three!

Cabled purse, learned this one in a class. Rowan Big Wool.

Lucy bag, made this last fall and it’s seen some hard use this past fall & winter. In Lambs Pride charcoal.

My first booties! Very easy to do, in Lorna’s Laces Shephard’s Worsted, color is “Layette.” A matching blanket (the Big Bad Baby Blanket from the SnB book) is in the works.

I’ve been knitting “for real” just over a year. Thanks to what I’ve learned here, I think I’ve made some progress from the scarf stage. Thanks for the assistance and the inspiration!

Great job on all the FOs! Love the purses, and the booties are too cute!!

:inlove: I love that first purse!! :inlove:

:cheering:

Thank you all, , I am loving the positive feedback  ! As someone who spent several years knitting nothing more than the occasional dish cloth, I never expected to actually knit anything and the opportunity to learn to do this has been very satisfying (and fun, of course!)

The pattern for the cabled purse is from a class, I will try to find out if our instructor minds having it posted. Better yet, she may have it on her blog, so I’ll ask. It’s actually very easy, just a knitted rectangle (you can place your cables any way you like, or use any other decorative stitch). Then measure the rectangle for the lining while it’s still flat. Seam up the sides, just like you would the sides of a sweater. Use matching yarn to wrap the cast-on and cast-off ends onto the handles using a tapestry needle and sewing through each stitch: voila! Making a lining is easy, you can find instructions for that lots of places on the web. If I can get permission to post the actual pattern, I will  .

Can’t wait for the pattern–I love that bag!

And I just knit my first Lucy and LOVE the pattern–plan on making one for myself in Lamb’s Pride aubergine. Yours looks wonderful–I love the buttons!

Everything is fabulous!! I especially love the cable purse - brown & pink are awesome!!

woah! way to go, love all of them! (especially the lucy bag) :inlove:

Beautiful FOs! I love the cabled purse…hope you can share the pattern! I get the idea anyway if you can’t.
