So I made a hat for my hubby (Patons SWS Natural Navy), mittens (blue patons cotton) for a friends newborn and mittens (Pink/charcole patons Shetland Chunky)for my 8mo old. The mittens are the thumbless kind and the hat was a dream to knit. The SWS is very soft.
as you can see… my knitting is far from perfect… but I really love it, and in time I’m sure I will get better. The Cotton for the little mitties was done on 3.75mm needles… gawd… like toothpics! I find them very hard to knit with!
Thanks all!! you guys are all so supportive! so much better than other forums I have been a part of that are bitter, picky, mean and confrontational!
I just love signing on in the AM to see what new things I can learn and see!
Cheers!!!
About the hat too… I am going to get a bunch of different colors of SWS and make hats for christmas gifts. It is cold here in New Brunswick (Canada) and the SWS comes in enough different colorways to suit everyone on my santa list! yay!!!
I think I’m going to make one for my dad; he had a nasty skull fracture several years back and had a metal plate put in his head so the cold really bothers him.
