[COLOR=“DarkOrchid”]I could kick myself! I made a pair of socks for my Mom (she’s 93 and her feet get cold) out of a blue I wasn’t using (mistake yarn) and a lovely soft grey. The blue made a nice pattern on it’s own and the socks looked wonderful but I gave them to her before I even thought to photograph them… LOL!
Anyway, she loves them and wears them every day.
She has horrible feet - corns and bent toes for too tight a shoe when she was little and shoes just don’t get too comfy for her. That’s why she loves the socks…:woohoo:
And low and behold - if my daughter didn’t visit her one day and ask her where she got the socks. Good grief, she actually liked something I’d made! :woot: :woot: (double hurray!)

wow,what a Blessed ans jappy and proud mom. i have been trying for months to make socks. did you use the magic stitch, or regular. was the pattern simple? thanks Hugs Joan
Well, that is very nice! :yay: Now, you just need to make a pair for your dd and take a pic of them to post
That’s really nice of you! My mom doesn’t like socks; she says they’re uncomfortable, so she either wears stockings of sandals. :teehee: Maybe she’ll want some socks when she gets older.
Next time you visit your mama photo the socks on her.
LOL! Congrats! :cheering:
I’ve always wanted to know how to knit socks but I’m afraid I feel a bit intimidated by it. :help:
grins and nods enthusiastically
lexymarin–i know what you mean about socks, kinda scary. But–i finally decided it was the thing to do, a couple of years ago(after having knitted easy–(read"flat") stuff for several years, and it is really fun. The first time you turn a heel and it comes out right, you feel so clever, it’s a bit like magic. Definitely start a pair. linknit41
[COLOR=“DarkOrchid”]Thanks for the comments everyone!
The only pattern I ever have used (so far) is from Silver’s Sock Class. I wrote the whole thing down on some small note pages and have them all #'d. I start the sock at page 1 and go to page 17… LOL!![]()
Can’t wait to knit another pair of socks - these will be for myself since I don’t have any… :teehee:
It sure is fun to hold two different colours of yarn together and see what comes out.
