FO- We Call Them Pirates & little bit more fair isle

I made these for Christmas but have only just got around to posting them here - my first attempts at fair isle! The pirate hat was so much fun to make but turned out much smaller than I’d hoped (er… swatch? me?) but at least it made a 6-year old girl very happy  All inspired by fair isle, I made the little hat below for a friend’s baby.

“We Call Them Pirates” from Hello Yarn - www.helloyarn.com/wecallthempirates.htm
DB Baby Cashmerino (Purple), Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk (White) & RYC Cashcotton DK (Pink)

DB Baby Cashmerino (Purple) & Sublime Baby Cashmere Merino Silk (White) - I made up the pattern and used (motif from Nicky Epstein, Knitting on the Edge)

I hope you likey

Hi Toast King:
Nice work. The pink in the pirates hat makes the hat look lighter. Cute baby hat, wouldn’t have thought it was a “made-up” pattern.

I’ve had the We Call Them Pirates hat bookmarked for a while, but I fear the fair isle, which is reason enough to make the effort.

They are both great! Would you mind sharing instructions for the hat–a friend of mine just had a baby in Nov., and I’d love to make that for her. That is just adorable!

:inlove: great job!!! congrats!!! :inlove:

me too, I’ve had the pattern bookmarked for a while, but fair isle intimidates me.

I wonder if this would work in Reverse/Double knitting

I M ADDICTED

The baby hat is awesome!!! :notworthy: Do you have a pattern?

Aww thank you for your nice comments

Typically, I didn’t write down how I made the hat :wall: - but I’ll try and figure it out over the weekend and let you know, if I can work it out! BTW, the motif is taken from a book, does anyone know if would breach copyright to use the motif in my pattern? Maybe I should just give the instructions for the basic shape of the hat.
