Hey everyone! I knit these to celebrate as I begin kicking the habit - I have been SERIOUSLY addicted to Diet Coke and decided it was time to stop! It’s just a basic 56 stitch sock on size 2 needles, with hand-dyed wool/bamboo sock yarn I got from my prayer sock swap!
And now, I don’t have anything OTN! I can’t remember this ever, ever happening! I am not a monogamous knitter by a long shot, but I don’t feel the need to be - I finish stuff fairly quickly and don’t have a problem with hibernating things… I just like to have several types going on according to my moods. But here’s the deal, I ordered from Knitpicks a week ago and I’m waiting for the yarn… I kept finishing everything and I’m looking for projects since I still have a fair amount of worsted yarn, but there’s nothing I’m in the mood to knit! Nothing simple and worsted, nothing too wintery, etc… I’ve just been knitting a lot and I don’t wanna knit anything worsted and quick! lol I started these socks to begin the road to recovery (lol) and hoped they’d hold me over til the package arrived, but I finished my scarf two days ago and now this… I hope I get my yarn in the mail tomorrow! I’m going to start Eunny Jang’s Bayerische socks AND her Print o’ the Wave stole…
I too have quit Diet Coke, and all other sweetners, except for a couple packets of Splenda each day in my tea. After all the reading I’ve done on the bad effects, I decided to give it a month, then decide. It’s been two months now, and it seems to be going well.
Today, I had four packets of Splenda, tomorrow I hope to get it cut down to three, and stay there for a couple of weeks. Three cups of tea or coffee a day, then maybe down to one or none.
Anyway, keep up the good work, going off this stuff is difficult.
Congrats from a former Diet Coke addict to another! I kicked my habit about 11 years ago, and I haven’t gone back (although occasionally root beer trips me up).
Congrat’s on kicking the soda! Water is so much better for you! I know how hard it is to quit anything you like ( I quit smoking 5 years ago).
It’s great you got the yarn! beautiful colors!
Can you post a picture/pattern of the stole? Or just tell me how to find it. I would love to see a picture of it. Which color are you using for it?
Thanks,
from curious Jen, lol!
Here’s the stole I’m knitting, and here are the socks. They’re both going to be really time-consuming, challenging knits for me - but I’m SO excited! :woot:
