Hi everyone! Its been ages since i have been on. I plan on changing that! Alot has been happening…(im pregnant for starters!) :happydance:
anyway, btwn work and being so tired, i havent been knitting as much. but i finally have a FO. about 9 months ago our very close family friend Charles died from lung cancer. his wife was/is devastated. i made her a purse last spring to surprise her with a little something nice around Easter, b/c. it was her first one without Charles and im sure, hard.
She loved it and asked if i could make her a bag she can take to school to carry some notebooks and stuff to and from (she is a teacher.) she said she wanted bright, cheery and unique. So here is what i came up with. What do you think?
Your friend is going to love it. You not only got bright and cheery, but unique too. I wouldn’t be surprised if you started getting “orders” after she’s carried it around a bit.
the petals are a basic standard petal (Nicki Epstein has a book about them and these petals are sort of done like hers ) i added more stitches and decreased differently though for these flowers. The the center is just an I-Cord i twisted and sewed together.
That is gorgeous - no one can fail to feel uplifted by looking at those beautiful bright colours. You are a very kind friend - not to mention talented.
