FO UPDATE! Baby Boy Cabled Pullover

October 2nd UPDATE: the mother put my gifted sweater on her baby boy for his first ever 3-month photo session! I’m so proud! See photos below! Isn’t he adorable? [Photos are professionally taken, thus the trademark/watermark in the photos!]

The Yarn: Silky Tweed
The Pattern: SIRDAR BOOK #302 CHINO KNITS
Size: 3 mo.
Giftee: The Varriano baby boy due in July

This one was really fun! It went together in a few days! The blocking really improved the feel of the yarn. It wasn’t scratchy in the first place, but washing and rinsing in Unicorn Fiber Wash and Rinse really made it soft!

4 button shoulder closure

WOW! :cheering: That’s gorgeous! Great job, Artlady!

That baby is never going to need clothes! I hope it’s cold enough he can wear all these lovely sweaters and hats before he outgrows them. :teehee:

Love the sweater!

Beautiful job as always. He will surely be the best dressed baby ever.

We live in the Pacific Northwest! No shortage of cold weather!
In the past 60 days, we have only had 23 days that hit 60 degrees! We’re still using the heat in our house!

Two nights ago, we had to bring out our snow plows on Snoqualmie Pass! Two feet of overnight snow!

This weekend, our Mt Rainier got socked with 70 mph winds/blizzard with 5 feet of snow! It killed a day hiker, and his wife and buddy were hospitalized with frostbite and hypothermia.

They were reportedly experienced hiker/climbers. They had summited Mt. Rainer previously. The mountain makes its own weather. They underestimated the mountain. Probably poorly outfitted. Mt Rainier headquarters had reported that snow was expected.

First of all, that sweater is so very handsome. What a lucky baby boy!

Secondly…SNOW? Ahhhh that sounds heavenly (coming from someone who’s been in 100+ weather too many days this June)

WOW gorgeous!! i love it. the yarn and the buttons all of it!!

That is soo beautiful!! He’s gonna look like such a handsome little man!

So cute and comfy looking. I love the yarn!!! It’s so earthy :inlove:

That looks great! :yay:

All your knitting always looks beautiful.

Looks wonderful. He certainly will a well dressed baby.

Artlady, you’ve done it again…another beautiful work of art!
We just got back from Colorado on vacation and there was snow on the moutain peaks…wore jackets all week…wonderful weather!
Sorry to hear that someone lost their life and all the other injuries…you really have to be careful, when you hike like that.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful work,
Merry :)

wow, that will be one well-dressed baby.
I love everything about this sweater, and it looks quite easy…
I could probably figure out the pattern… I need to make some baby clothes (3 friends are pregnant and 1 family member)
but wow, you always make beautiful things
I am sure this will be an heirloom sweater and I doubt this is the only baby who will end up wearing it. I am sure it will last several generations.

ok totally love the stuff you are making it is adorable!!!

Hmmm after I get socks doen maybe I’ll try cables:knitting:

Once again, absolutely beautiful work. You are my knitting hero!

The mountain makes its own weather. They underestimated the mountain.

One of the spookiest mountains in the world. The Native Americans in the area feel that there is much that is dark and evil to it. Of course the tourist board doesn’t want anyone to get a whiff of that type of thinking. We lived in it’s shadow for quite awhile, hiked and camped on it, and had quite a few experiences that were a little out of the ordinary.

:inlove: beautiful!!

What a wonderful little sweater!

Lovely sweater Artlady and the colour is really nice. x

very luck baby boy
