FO: Traveling Fern for Lauralee

Finished the Traveling Fern Lace Scarf for my daughter, Lauralee. It’s on the blocking mats now, still wet from the soaking. I was really worried about casting on 4 repeats widthwise, that the scarf might come up too short with the one hank of yarn I had to work with. Alas, it didn’t! Right off the needles, it was way too short. But after a good soaking, it allowed itself to widen out to 10" and grow in length to 68". Wow, I was so surprised and happy. The yarn is Madeline Tosh Merino Light, a fingering weight, 420 yds. I was just very very worried that I bombed by casting 4 repeats wide. The Fear doesn’t sink in until you’re totally up the road, and way too much work has been done.

Lauralee is a creamy-complected young woman, with green eyes and medium brown hair, but she’s been doing her hair red highlights the past year. She looks great in greens, no matter what her hair color is.

My notes, and free pattern.

That is sensational and your daughter will look lovely in that colour.

As usual ArtLady, gorgeous work and lovely colors! :muah: Your Lauralee is one lucky lady!

Simply amazing. Love the color!

Well, I must say, both your daughter and the scarf are absolutely gorgeous! The yarn and the pattern work so well together. Thank you for passing on your notes and the pattern.

That is just too beautiful for words, and you have a lovely daughter too. Such a great colour for her.

This is my feeble attempt to upload a photo using my Android smartphone. (Wow, it worked)

Very well done as always!!

Beautiful colours, beautiful pattern - and it looks great on her.

I have to say, I am quite amazed it changed so much (got larger) after blocking - a good thing it dit though

Very pretty colored yarn and a lovely lace pattern. I’m glad it worked out in the length department. You made a great scarf for your daughter.
