FO: Top Down Toddler Cardi

Last night I had a moment. An epiphany if you will (I’m fasting right now, so it happens often).

I can knit.

I finally finished the Top Down Cardigan for my 4yo at about 2:00am and this amazing satisfaction came over me. I taught myself Continental from Amy’s video so I could do some Fair Isle. I graftd underarm seams, I striped a sweater from a solid pattern! Forgive me if this sounds immodest, but I was really stunned!

I get so much great encouragment from this forum,to plug ahead while I “Trust the Pattern” AND stray from it at will. That was a big part of finally getting this off the needles.

I’ll post another pic with my little one wearing it when I’ve got a digi cam.

That is AMAZING!! Way to go, you have done a great job and you should be proud! Can’t wait to see it on the little one!

Thank you all so much!!! I’ve had a nap and feeling much more spry - so to log on and read this has made my day!!!

That’s such an awesome feeling when you realize that you have the confidence and skills necessary to do any pattern and stray from it if desired/needed! :cheering:

Great job on the pretty sweater! :inlove:

I love the no-sew thing, too.
I’ll have to look for this book.

Wow, what a fabulous cardigan! Beautiful!

I so love it! What was the original pattern that you used? And the yarn?

Thanks!!

The pattern is the Basic Cardigan from a book called Top Down For Toddlers: No Sew Knitting by the Gemmell Sisters at Cabin Fever.

I used Classic Elite Provence yarn in Japanese Lilac and Rosa Rugosa.

Yarn Stats => 100% Mercerized Egyptian Cotton; Gauge 5½ sts/inch on US Size 5 needles (Pattern Guage is 5.5 sts/in on size 6 circulars); comes in 100g/100yd skeins.
