FO-Sweater

This sweater is from the Knitting Pure & Simple Neckdown Pullover for Women #9724 made with Schaefer “Elaine” color Mary Breckenridge (from the Memorable Women series). I was looking for a simple pattern to show off the yarn.

You can see some “pooling” of color in the sleeve but it is identical on each side so I think it looks like its supposed to be there.

For some reason the picture makes the yarn look lighter in some places, I think it’s the flash. In reality it is very even and the darker color. This is a very easy pattern and I worked it up in just a couple weeks.
Now it’s on to finish my CPH and then I can start knitting for the new GRANDBABY:woot:

Nice … thanks for sharing - every new FO I see like this inspires me further

:happydance: very pretty!! I love the colors… you did a great job

That was my first sweater pattern and I liked it a lot. I ended up with mine a little too large, but I wear it anyway sometimes.

It does show off the yarn well and you did a great job on it!

Congratulations on your first sweater! :cheering:

love the colors! I’m trying to do socks that may match!

Looks very comfortable. Does the self striping yarn make all those sort of wedge shaped sections with you just doing regular straight rows? It makes a very interesting effect however you did it.

This wasn’t my first sweater, I’ve done many. It was a very simple pattern because of the yarn, and also because I made this pattern for my daughter for Christmas and thought it looked really comfy.
Elaine is a thick and thin yarn that I didn’t think would look good with lots of ribbing or cables. Add to that the varigated yarn and I wanted a pattern that would show, just the yarn.

I do like the color pooling in this case, looks a bit like intentional elbow patches.

Looks great, love the colors.

That’s very nice. I actually like the pooling on the sleeves!

Looks great!

Very pretty. That’s neat how both elbow colors came out that way!
