FO: Stockinette Celaeno

A Christmas present for my sister, a weaver. She admired this yarn in the yarn store one day, so I decided to surprise her with it. I knit this one in stockinette, and placed beads sparingly in the lace section. I love the result. Somehow the stockinette seems more sophisticated than the garter stitch the pattern calls for. I LOVE this yarn. The colors are incredibly deep and don’t bleed during washing. The first photo is most accurate. The 50% silk content makes it wonderfully soft with gorgeous drape.

Pattern: Celaeno
Yarn: Schaefer Yarn Audrey in colorway Gertrude Ederle

Oh.My.Gosh! It is stunning!

Pretty! I had to check out the pattern to see what a celaeno was though. lol Did she love it?

Totally agree with you, Marilyn! The st st is a very sophisticated look, especially with the lovely edging! Really, I can’t imagine it looking as beautiful in garter st! You made a good call on that! Absolutely LOVE the Yarn and colorway! It looks like it was pure joy to knit! The colors distributed nicely! Just enough stacking and pooling for each color to establish its presence! It’s always a worry, isn’t it? Those handpaints make me hold my breath every time! Anyway. Great Work once again! Pairing yarn, color and design is an art! It must be finely tuned! You’ve certainly got the knack!

Ooooo, rich color. I love the lace patterns too. Beautiful.

OMG Slim it’s gorgeous!!! I love the beautiful colorway!!
