I’m so happy. This is the first garment I’ve made for myself that actually fits right. This is the Indigo Ripples pattern from IK, knitted in red Cascade Sierra yarn. I lengthened the stockenette part so that I can wear it to church without shocking people.
Oooh! Great job. Congrats!
Pretty skirt, pretty color and good fit! Nice job!
I read your quote about “wearing it to church and not shocking people” and I was like… that wouldn’t even cause a batting of the eyelash in California, and then I saw you were in Texas and I was like oh yeah that makes more sense!!
It’s unfortunate but in so many churches( and other religious centers for that matter), anything goes, people don’t respect it and dress really really immodestly. :-S
Very pretty! The flouncey lace just sets it off and the color is great!
Yeah, the original pattern is gorgeous, but I’d be very uncomfortable in it. Even if it wasn’t a question of modesty, I’m just not that proud of my legs. ![]()
You should post a picture of a close up of the bottom
Great job
It looks gorgeous,
the color is fantastic too
Thanks for asking. Here’s a couple of pictures of the bottom part.
Thats so pretty!
The pattern and the edge just look so spiffy together
Beautiful! You know…I’ve had this Vogue pattern earmarked for ages, but I was thinking the same thing! " Hmmm, this lace shows a lot of (peekaboo) thigh!" You did a great job of lengthening the st st just the right amount! You didn’t ruin the pattern, but you made it more wearable for everyday life, and it’s still beautiful!
Great job!!!
Thank you. It’s a top down pattern, so it’s easy to try on and see if it’s a good lengh before moving on to the lace. My stockinette is approx. 20 inches.
Oh, that turned out so pretty!!! Congrats!
Nice job!! Thanks for the close up pictures. The lace is really attractive when you can see the pattern closer. The lace flounce is really nice on the skirt.
Very pretty!
What a great job
It’s a lovely skirt - thanks for posting the closeup of the lace - love the flounce!
wonderful job, I love the color and the beautiful pattern
Wow thats very pretty, and I dont even wear skirts! But I’d for sure wear that one.

Love the detail work! The color is so pretty too!!!
I’ve always been worried about knitting skirt…not sure I could pull it off but this one is very cute and I love how you made it longer. Great job :yay:
