I decided that I felt like making a shrug, to keep my arms warm in air conditioning. I liked making it so much that I’ll probably make another one, although next time probably not in lace. Since it’s usually my arms more than any other part of my body that gets cold, a shrug is perfect for my needs.
I used an 18-stitch feather-and-fan pattern for my lace pattern. Other than that, I just made it up as I went along. Both sleeves were done from the bottom up, and I used kitchener stitch to graft them together. My LYS owner was extremely impressed, especially after I told her that I’ve only been knitting for three months! She thinks I should submit the pattern to interweave or berroco. I might, but I have to try it again with a yarn that’s readily available. This yarn was a weaving yarn, i believe. It was donated to the place that I got it from by someone who was a former WEBS employee.
