FO - scarves and more scarves

Our church is doing a project to knit hats and scarves for a local shelter. I’ve done these since the end of October. It was fun trying different patterns and different yarns.

Those are gorgeous!! :inlove:

Nice project and nice scarves!! They all look good. Doing all those different stitches is the way to go, can’t get bored that way. You chose some really nice stitches. Those will be very welcome.

BTW a young gal asked on another thread how much to charge for a handmade scarf and one person answered $100.00. So your gift is worth a lot.

They look wonderful. Well done.

Thanks! Someone told me they are too nice to give to the shelter, but I think that makes it extra nice - they don’t always get the nicer things. People tend to give their not-so-good stuff.

Beautiful scarves (I’d love the pattern for the bottom right one!) and a beautiful gesture for people in need. Thank you.

Those are beautiful scarves!

Those are sp beautiful and they look comfy

I’m always afraid someone will ask me for a pattern. I usually just make it up as I go.

Anyway, I’m not sure if I used 10 or 10.5 needles (probably 10) but it’s worsted weight yarn. It goes something like this:

Cast on 42
Row 1: K2 P2 TW2 P2 TW2 P2 TW2 P2; (P2 K2) 2 times; P4; repeat the section between the *; end P2 K2.
Row 2: (P2 K2) 4 times; K2 P2 K2 P2 K2; (K2 P2) 4 times
Row 3: (K2 P2) repeat 10 times, then end K2.
Row 4: (P2 K2) repeat 10 times, then end P2

Where TW2 is a front twist.

I hope that’s right! Thanks for asking. :aww:

Lovely!

Very nice.

They are all lovely ! Well done

what a great project! the scarves are gorgeous!

Those are very nice. What a nice thing to do. >^,^<

Beautiful knitting! What a wonderful gift.

A great set of scarves I might add!!! It is so nice that you could keep them long enough to take a group photo before they go to their owners!!!

Beautiful scarves but more importantly is the gesture.

WOW - that’s a lot of scarves. I really appreciate you saying that you are giving them to the shelter and what you said about people at the shelter not getting a lot of nice things. I served at the city mission for years and not everyone there is strung out on drugs etc. Many of the people we fed were families that for one reason or another had lost their homes or a mother and her child that left an abusive situation. Trust me they will appreciate and cherish your gift. You rock.

Beautiful scarves! I think it’s great that you’re donating something so lovely.

Beautiful scarves, and all the more impressive because of the cause they were knit for.
