FO: Scarf for my mom

I finished this scarf for my mom yesterday. My last Christmas knitting project!! :cheering:

I used Plymouth Suri Merino- 55% alpaca, 45% merino. Very very soft. The pattern was from Plymouth- it has patterns for the scarf, a hat and mittens, but I’m just doing the scarf for now.

That’s so nice. I’m sure she’ll love it. I love that blue! :XX:

WOW! Those may be the neatest edges I have ever seen! Its GREAT!

It IS very pretty and neat. Great work…I’m sure your mom will love it!

I second the comment about the neat edges – what’s your secret?

Very pretty – I love that shade of blue!

Very nice, that is the sweetest shade of blue also. I third the neatest edges, how did you do it?

Your mom is going to love it  it sounds as though it’s very, very soft!! love the scarf, love the color

I love it! My edges never look that neat.

That is so pretty! Nice work!

VERY nice!!!

Thanks- I don’t know what the secret is to the neat edges- maybe it’s just the pattern? All is is is cast on 44 sts- RS knit, WS K2, p1, K2, repeat. So simple, but it makes a pretty stitch pattern. I think I am going to make the mittens for myself after Christmas.

What formed the border on the ends? It looks like there’s a deviation in the stitches for about one row, about an inch or two in from the ends. It gives it a nice border effect on the ends.

Pretty!! Looks very soft, too.

Renna- I have to laugh- I was wondering if anyone would notice that. I made a mistake when I was a couple of inches into the scarf. The pattern calls for you to K2, p1, K2. I accidentally started the row with p1. I realized it a few rows later, and instead of frogging it and starting over, I kept on going and duplicated the mistake on the other end of the scarf!!

Margie - I’ve done the same thing! Good for you for incorporating it! I Love it!

I noticed that too and thought it was cool!!!

The “mistake” makes the scarf even better imo! Your mom will love it!

Beautiful! I love the stitch pattern detail.

Bravo for you! Necessity is the mother of invention. Your mistake necessitated a repeat on the other end, hence, a new pattern was born! :cheering:

Very pretty!!! Nice work.
