I participated in the KAL for the Saturday Market Bag. I wasn’t really pleased with the way it turned out so I decided to try making Rutabaga from Knitscene. I do like it, but it’s still not exactly what I want. I used Sugar & Cream cotton. It took a little over 2 balls.
What don’t you like?
I think it looks good!
Thanks.
I do like it, it’s just not exactly what I want. I wanted something more meshy. I just don’t think I’m going to be happy until I learn how to crochet well enough to make the bag I REALLY want. Which is this.
I think it looks pretty anyway. Good job!
Great job! I really like it! Was that a FREE pattern? Do you have a link? TFS
I htink it looks great! I bought the magazine for that pattern alone. I haven’t started yet though. My mom has a knit bag similar that my Aunt made for her about 30 years ago. It has been used a lot and other than some spots has held up extremely well.

Great bag! :cheering: I like the stitch pattern in it!
I too think it looks fabulous!
That is a GREAT bag! Don’t knock your efforts. You also picked a great summery color!
Oh, I love that color! It looks great! :cheering:
Is this ‘Stow-Away Shopping Bag’ more what you had in mind?
I love it! How do I get my hands on that pattern?
Thanks all. Like I said, I do like it. It’s just not exactly what I want. My mom is pretty happy though as this is the 3rd bag I’ve made and I’ve given them all to her. I told her I was going to try knitting the Saturday Market bag in the round to see if I was happier with that and she asked if I could do it in blue. :teehee:
The pattern is in the spring 07 issue of Knitscene. It’s probably still available.
