FO: Quant

Hey everyone! It’s the first FO after Christmas - all for me  I have to admit, it’s fun to knit something a little different every once in a while… I definitely consider myself a sock knitter, but I still really enjoy learning new techniques (I’m still a new knitter!) and just all different kinds of things.
I saw this pattern in the winter Knitty, and I have to admit I only picked it because I had a skein of the yarn it called for that I had no idea what to do with (I had gotten it in my going-away present stash). I was very interested in learning entrelac, so I figured I might as well give it a shot.
So here’s my Quant headband from Knitty. Knit on size 9 needles with Crystal Palace Taos wool. Just finished it, so it’s pre-blocked with pictures I took myself. Let me know what you think

Rachel, that’s really cute, and you look very good in it.

I’ve been wanting to try entrelac, maybe have to make a Quant for my DDIL.

Your’s came out great!

Well done, Rachel. It looks like it fits you well. I made-up one for my mom in a blue colorway yarn. Enterlac looks like more work than it is, kind of like cables, doesn’t it?

It looks great – it really brings out your blue eyes. Entrelac is alot of fun – alot of design for a pretty simple technique.

That looks so great on you… you did a wonderful job. I am going to have to check out that pattern!

Ooh, so pretty! It turned out great, and those colors are perfect on you. I want one!
How was the Taos to knit with? I love the colorways, but when I touch it in the store it feels kind of scratchy. What do you think of it?

very cute!

Wowww!!! that really looks sooo good on you… I have made 3 of the other headband on Knitty… calormetry (spelling is not my thing)
but I like the way yours covers your ears… mine narrows as it goes over my ears and don’t know if it would be warm enough for really cold weather… I’m gonna check out that pattern… thanks for sharing.

That looks adorable on you-the colors are perfect with your pretty blue eyes! Great job!

It’s not super scratchy, but it’s definitely not the softest. I didn’t mind working with it, but then again I’m not particularly sensitive to that. It kept my ears really warm when I wore it out today, and it felt a little bit softer after blocking. Not sure why, maybe it is just a little bit different knit up than in the skein. I probably wouldn’t make a Fetching or anything worn next to sensitive skin, but it’s definitely fine for this project.

Very nice! I’ve been wearing mine all the time… they really are super warm

Very cute!! It looks really good on you.

That looks great, Rachel!
