If it turns out to be a boy, I can whip up a panel w/ say, a dog or a sailboat, star, etc., if it’s a girl the hearts are good and you could do a kitty or flowers. An old lady from Greece swore my friend is having a girl; we’ll know soon enough!
Oh yes, go for it! I think it’s such a practical sweater because you can change the panel, also easy to get baby into. Some other knitters on Ravelry made 2 or 3 extra panels. The lady who wrote the pattern won a contest at my LYS, Jimmy Beans Wool in Reno. Have fun, you should be able to knit it pretty quickly.
