FO - Pakucho organic cotton washcloths

So I whipped these little babies out for dh’s ds birthday (we usually just give him money, which is what he wants, but dh always wants to give him something a little more “tangible,” so he was pleased when I offered to do these.) I got really tired of working with this yarn, because it felt rough against my fingers as I worked (in fact, I almost felt like I was getting a blister on one or two fingers). BUT the end result is really nice - the cotton is nice and soft, and I love that the colors it comes in is the color it was grown in.

I did the good ol’ diagonal garter stitch, plus Chinese Waves and the bamboo stitch, both of which I really liked. I think they have a good texture for a washcloth (or a dishcloth).

Nice!! Love the kitty!

Very nice!

I have a coworker that is in heaven since she found out I could knit. I’ve been knitting dish cloths for her and she thinks they are the “bomb” since I use 2 strands instead of one.

I love the look of the bamboo stitched cloth. Where did you come across that stitch. I’d love to try something different for a change.

Again GREAT job on the cloths. :cheering:

They look great! And, that bamboo stitch is really cool looking!

Thanks! (I edited the original post just now b/c I realized I said they were for dh’s birthday, but they are for dh’s older ds.

Here’s where I got the bamboo stitch: Dishcloth Boutique, page 4 I used Bamboo Variation #1

Thanks earthchick for sharing that link. What a jackpot of patterns!!

Great Job!!

And what a cute cat!!

love the work,
your cat looks very happy, so cute

Thanks for the link, been wondering where to find one for dishcloths etc,
Stupid question, but do u make them out of cotton rather than an acrylic or wool based yarn?

Hazel x :XX:

They’re great!!! (And I could not see any mistakes that needed to be ignored!)

Thanks, Ronda!

Hazel, I don’t know what other people do, but I always make my dishcloths and washcloths out of 100% cotton. I’m not sure how acrylic would do in terms of absorbency. And I wouldn’t do wool for anything that would have this much contact with water.

I especially like using cotton chenille for facecloths. Very soft, fluffy stuff.

Those look great! Nice textures, and love the natural look!

Those are GREAT! I love seeing decorative stitches

Very nice!
