Another scarf done. I used the One Row Handspun Scarf pattern by the Yarn Harlot. This one is for my mother-in-law for Christmas. I dyed two skeins of the yarn she gave me that she had made from wool from her sheep with 14 packets of Black Cherry Kool-Aid. While it’s not as dark as I’d hoped it would be I still really like how the color turned out, especially with the few really dark spots.
Since I had dyed both skeins I wanted to use them both up (even though each was around 150 yards), but I should have stopped way sooner than I did. When I completed the knitting it was just over 71 inches long, but I wanted to block it so that it would open up the stitches and even out the edges. Well that stretched this sucker to 77 1/2 inches long and 6 inches wide. Yipes!! :doh:While I knew the blocking would stretch it out, I did not think it was gonna be that much.
Hope she doesn’t mind having a scarf that’s like a foot and a half taller than she is. LOL
