FO: Noro "Chirimen" Bettna Coat

Yeah, I knit a 6th Bettna. I tell you, I really love this design. It works so well with so many variegated colorways!

This yarn is DK / 8 ply / 60% Cotton, 24% Silk, 16% Wool, and is warm, yet cool. Very light and airy feeling. I had so much fun working with the colorway! Had to manipulate the skeins more than once by removing the solid black a few times.

Anyway, I promise to model it for you, but not today. I’m a wreck, and doin’ good to get the photo done at all. I need a hair cut and color, too. Ack.

Here it is:

I’m going to wear it tonight, with a wool (knit) charcoal heather-grey skirt and black top. I’m also going to knit a cami/tank to go with it, using Silky Wool but haven’t gotten to it yet. Here is the Silky Wool, color “coffee bean #54”:

Here are my Ravelry notes, if you care to investigate this knit!

That’s really sharp looking!

Your evening’s outfit sounds spot on.

Lovely, lovely!! Those earth tones are so soothing!!! Wonderful job!!

Love it! The colors are great and I am sure the rest of the outfit is going to really show it off.

Hi Dollyce,

As always a perfect matching of yarn to pattern. Everything you do is perfection…you think I’m a fan? You bet I am!

Love it, Dollyce!!:inlove:

Love it … as always! The colorway you used is just beautiful!

Dollyce,I just had to ditto what everyone else has said. Your work is always breathtaking and of course PERFECT!:woot: Jeanie

Another beautiful cardi. You are the sweater queen! I love this colorway, and the yarn sounds yummy. Beautiful work, as always.

It looks very nice. Are you just going to wear it open in front, or does it have a zipper I can’t see? Usually you have cool buttons, but I don’t see any. Just wondering.

No buttons. The “Bettna” is worn open, like a kimono. If a person wanted to hold it closed, a clasp could easily be added.
But I’ve never wanted to hold it closed. I like to fly free! :teehee:

Thanks for your message Judy!

Thanks for the reply Dollyce. I understand, no buttons. I guess it is ‘bettna’ that way. (attempt at a joke  )

Another beauty! I love the colorways you choose! You sure have an eye for color and patterns!

Here’s the front cover of the book! Bettna is featured on the cover:

I’m just simply gonna have to try this one day. I love the way yours always turns out!! Just beautiful!

You really must! This kimono-like cardigan is so easy! Almost completely straight lines! Another bonus, it’s flattering on any figure type! Tall women, short women, slim or plump…it fits!

After not being able to see enough to get online for almost a week, thought I’d check to see if you posted something new. You didn’t disappoint me, it’s really pretty.

I’m going to go look for the Noro book, I have the perfect yarn.

Once again, your speed knitting amazes me; not to mention the meticulous care you put into everything.
