FO Nine Dwindling Cables Beret

Yarn Used in Deep Olive.

Nine Dwindling Cables is the pattern.

The band is knit horizontally using a size 1.5 needle, producing a firm as well as flexible fabric. The crown of the hat is knit vertically using a size 8 needle. I began knitting the crown of the hat on row 9 to lessen the amount of slouch, a modification noted by the designer.

The band on this hat was such an amazing knitting experience! From using a 1.5 needle with a worsted weight yarn, to learning a Make One (M1) increase, as well as learning how to pick up stitches. I also became somewhat proficient at Purling through the Back Loop (PTBL), this stitch as well as the complementary Knit through the Back Loop (KTBL) on the right side, resulting in a pronounced ridge across the band.

You done really, really good! That’s a beautiful hat, beautifully knit.

Ooh, Claire! That is just lovely!! :notworthy:

Stunning, what more can I say. Considering this for my to do list.

Gorgeous! The cables are so beautifully knit and the pattern works so well at the crown of the beret. Enjoy wearing this lovely hat.

That is just gorgeous! I made a cowl which had purl through the back loop ridging, and it’s a neat stitch!

Gosh, that’s just beautiful. But I’m completely distracted by the fact that you’re wearing short sleeves! Actually you’re wearing no sleeves, lol! It’s about 18F and 8" of snow where I am, so I’m looking at your hat picture but can’t get past the bare arms!! :roflhard:

This is really quite lovely! You did a great job on it:inlove:

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: I was wondering if someone might mention that. It was a little chilly out, and DH did take longer than I would have liked to get the FOtos, I kept thinking would you hurry up and get these pictures taken, please!

Very nice hat pattern! Great work, too! Thanks for the nice photos!
