FO: Neckwarmer by Drops 116-10

Hi!
My 2 days of longer train rides got me to make and finish the neckwarmer by drops that I wanted to make for a while.

It feels a little wide and I might want to to make the top ribbing again and smaller. But I will see in a few days.

Here is the original pattern:

I will make the wristwarmers, too. But not today.

Here are the pics for you:

I am proud that I made it to catch all the strands in the back in such a regular pattern. I had not done much stranding work for a while until I got to the Spongebob pullover and feel accomplished that I made this and worked so smoothly and quickly.

Since I knit this in public on the train you can imagine how many people I met that wanted to discuss the pattern, the multicolor knitting and the general fact of knitting and all the rest. It was entertaining.

My blog holds the pics, too.http://hyperactiveknitting.blogspot.com/2010/09/neckwarmer-drops-116-10.html

WOW!!:notworthy:

That is gorgeous!!!:inlove:

Beautiful work! :inlove:

Again, I’m in awe of your stranding abilities!

Beautiful colorwork!

That’s beautiful!

My dog has a hedgehog like that… it’s her most favorite toy.

I have to say it along with everyone else…That is truly beautiful…Love the pattern.:yay:

Hey girls!
Thank you very much for your praise and support.

Since all my research has not brought me to any video showing my stranding technique I am considering to make a video about that myself. I will let you know when I finally bite the bullet.

Wow! It’s beautiful!! Lovely strand work!

I can

I can’t wait¡:woot: That’ll be awesome:yay:

OK, I get started on the wristwarmers and make a video about the stranding part. If you think you can learn of that I am happy to help.

I had that conversation about “how on earth do you do this” with several people lately, especially on this project on the train and they said they had not seen the technique. Maybe it is out there as a video and I will just add another one. But that is not so bad, really.

I think it is nothing special, but that’s just me.

I’ll get back to you in a few days with a video, I hope.

Great Job and excellent stranding work!

This is such nice work! Very even, very flat, not lumpy! Great! You should be very proud!

What she said! Adding WOW!!!

Thanks girls! I blush when I read this :aww: :teehee:

I have started the wrist warmer to make a stranding video soon. maybe I will even get started tonight. This is really not hard.

Wow, love it! haven’t done stranding but it looks so neat.

Hi!
I made my videos for the stranding. We are mixing them down tomorrow and I will upload them to youtube. The link I will present here, of course.

I hope my method is understandable at all. It is self-invented like a lot of my knitting technique. But I did put it in two videos to show.

Hi!
My video for stranded knitting is on youtube:

This is the video for the knit side. I will upload the purl-video soon.

If I could only knit English style I would follow the method of philosopher’s wool. But since I knit Continental only at this point, this is my only method

oh, I finally did it: here is the video for the purl side.

Just try it, it is much less effort, than you all think, really!

Thank you sooooooo much for sharing videos of your stranding techniques! :muah:

I’ve just started my first stranding project (it’s time to start the colorwork tonight - eek!) and this will be so helpful!

I actually knit using the English style, but I think I understand the concept of what you are doing in the video … we’ll see if I’m able to translate what you are doing over to the English knitting style! Although I have been wanting to try learning to knit Continental, maybe this will provide me with the opportunity …
