My first socks on two circs. I love this method and I love these socks! The toes got a little pointy, but I will adjust that next time. I’m afraid learning this has created a monster… I n e e d more handknit socks! :teehee:
:cheering: they look nice - and cozy! great job! :woohoo:
Gorgeous! I love to knit socks! Wish there was more yarn for us “wool allergy” people.
Sop 1 in NC
Thanks!
Do you actually have an allergy…as in you get hives and swell up? Or are you just sensitive to it and find it itchy? I can’t wear most wool clothing, even merino wool. Its just too itchy for me. However, wool socks are fine. I have no problem at all with them. The skin on feet is a LOT less sensitive.
Hi Jan,
I actually get hives and get red and itchy. The arches of my feet are particularly sensitive. I am very weird. However; my stepson and wife gave me a cashmere top last Christmas and I wore it for the first time yesterday and did OK. Wouldn’t you know!!! It was quite tolerable. I use Fixation for my socks.

Beautiful sox Jan. You did a marvelous job on them. I too am “break out” allergic to wool. You learn something every day from this site. What IS Fixation?
:woot: They look wonderful!! Welcome to the sock addiction club :woot:
Wow, Jan! These are gorgeous… and such a lovely yarn:heart:
those look great!! i love handknit socks!
Very pretty socks! I’m still using dpn’s, but you’ve encouraged me to try circs. I love your choice of yarn for these.
Thanks!
The.Knitter - Cascade Fixation is a heavier weight yarn that is quite stretchy…I’m not sure what its made off offhand.
Lovely socks!! :cheering: :cheering: They look so nice on you!!
Great colors Jan! Is that one of the self-striping sock yarns? If so, I may just have to make socks again and I swore I was done with socks.
Oh yes, it’s self striping! I just LOVE the self striping ones! So much fun to watch it come together!
Great socks, Jan! I’m working on a pair now, for a Christmas gift. Looks like the same yarn.
Great job, Jan!! They look like a perfect fit.
Welcome to the addiction
I too have a sensitivity to wool but can wear it in socks. Go figure?!
Fixation is a cotton/nylon blend and Elann has Esprit that is basically the same thing. There is also Crystal Palace Panda Cotton, Katia Mississippi that is also cotton and sometimes I use Senso crochet yarn (cotton/microfiber) that you can pick up at Hobby Lobby.
Very pretty, Jan!!:woohoo: I’ve only made one pair of socks and they were little ones for my ( at the time) 3 yr old DD. It was fun, though!
Great job!
Great job Jan… Yes you will definately have the sock bug now!
