I’ve wanted to knit this scarf ever since learning to knit last December and this Manos yarn was the first ‘expensive’ yarn I bought. Since I only had one skein of it, I made a thinner, longer scarf in the Wildflowers colorway - I adore the color.
It was an easy two row repeat pattern so I knit most of it in the car on the way to and from Ocean City, MD, where we vacationed last week at the beach.
I was a little disappointed with the Manos yarn - it was so thick in some places and so thin (thread thin) in others that it was a little difficult to knit with, but it did make the pattern look interesting.
That pattern was one I waited a while to make for myself too. I loved the yarn (but then I tend to like funky yarn like that) and I used the Wildflowers colorway too.
Beautiful! I love MSCS, and that colorway is really lovely. You did a great job! I agree about the Manos – I wasn’t that impressed with it. I much prefer Malabrigo.
That scarf has been on my “To Knit” list forever. I’m not a big fan of the Manos yarn either. With Malabrigo, you get almost twice as much for $10.50. Think I might have to go pick some up this weekend and start that scarf.
It’s lovely! I have two skeins of that yarn and it looks just gorgeous in that pattern- you make me want to knit it too!
I like Manos, and it’s supposed to be thick and thin, but I agree it’s tough to work with. I made a whole blanket out of it and it has pilled ridiculously.
