So I finished my Knitting Olympics project - my first pair of socks - just in time for my administrative assistant’s birthday (they are a gift for her, in her favorite color). They were surprisingly easy and I love, love, love this yarn (Malabrigo). They are looser/slouchier than I would’ve wanted, but otherwise I’m thrilled.

Yep, Ingrid, I’m finding it very hard to let go of these luscious babies. Of course, if my admin. asst. knew how many times I had put them on my feet, I’m not sure she would want them. 
Kristen, the pattern is Knitting Pure and Simple Beginner’s Socks. I found it to be an extremely easy, very well-written pattern. I’m getting ready to cast on for a pair of men’s socks that will be quite similar, also from Knitting Pure and Simple.
They are GORGEOUS, EC!! Just make sure she knows they are HAND WASH ONLY!! :shock:

Gave them to the AA yesterday and she loved them. :happydance: I was so happy. She went ahead right then and put them on and wore them to staff meeting to show everyone. 
The socks look great! I’m glad that your friend liked them. I haven’t worked with that yarn yet…but soon…!!

April, I was intimidated too, but I actually found these super-easy. And they went quick! I used Knitting Pure and Simple’s Beginner’s Sock pattern and would highly recommend it.
