It’s that mitten that was kicking my butt earlier! Now I’ll be up all night finishing the other one. lol
It looks awesome!
Great job - glad you kept at it and finished.
Looks so good ! Now get to work on the other mitten!
Congrats on conquering the DPNs! Looks awesome!
:cheering: :woot:
Looks really warm! Nice work.
Thanks guys. I’m hoping I get better about joining needles, 'cause you can see that line going up the front. I thought I was pulling tight enough! Ugh. Started the other mitten but got stuck at the part of the thumb where you have to cast on again. I was knitting at a friend’s house last night and didn’t have my laptop to youtube it again. lol Might actually start a new thread about that… see if I can get some advice.
Way to go! You’re still leagues ahead of me! I’ve yet to try a mitten and those fiddly dpn’s!
Great work!
No way - you’ve never used DPNs before? I saw your FO hoodie and was super impressed. I bet you’d make some bad a$$ mittens!!
No…never used dpn’s to knit a project…except for the very top of a hat…but then I learned how to knit small diameter using the “2-circulars” method…and dpn’s have been history ever since!
However, I recently watched Eunny Jang using dpn’s for the gusset and heel of a sock, and she used Signature dpn’s…and it looked much easier!
But I’ve never knit a single sock either. Not even cast on for a sock! The closest I got to sock Knitting is buying some sock yarn and buying a few sock how-to books.
What confuses me are all the sock Knitting methods! Toe up; toe up 2-at-a-time; cuff down; magic loop;2-circ’s; dpn’s. Everyone has something positive and/or negative to say about all the choices. So here I sit: sockless!
Thank you for posting your mitten. It is beautiful ! Right now I am learning to knit socks.Someday I am sure i will be knitting mittens. Is it very difficult to do ? Sheila
Thanks! You know what, I’m not sure how it compares to socks, because like ArtLady, I’ve never knitted a sock and really have no desire to. I can see me knitting some slippers at some point though. I used a “basic mitten” pattern - nothing fancy. So no, it wasn’t that difficult. You should give them a try!
Finished the other mitten, btw. Can’t wait to give them a test run tomorrow when I go out shopping!
Looks good! Now get busy on the hat to match!
They’re so cute! Great work…and adorable photography, too! Love it!
Yeah I can’t believe I was able to make these mittens using one really tiny ball of alpaca. So now I have another skein left over. I’m thinking about a scarf though… Trying to find a cool pattern. Something lacy maybe…
WOO HOO!! well done!! :cheering: :cheering:
Nice work. DPNs are definitely an accomplishment. :yay: :woohoo:
I can use them, but I rarely do. I prefer magic loop. Oh and BTW, I have made socks and don’t enjoy those either. Isn’t it great that there are so many project choices for knitters?
Hey, turned out nice! You didn’t let it beat you. I see now you have them both done.
Wow very cute! I’m glad you finally finished and conquered the dpns.
