FO - my first double hat

This was truly a labor of love because I might have tossed it had it been for just me. Okay, not really. I was frustrated with how tight the stockinette gets when working in the round. It was worse on the Denise needles and I had to stop and move the yarn around every 6 or 7 stitches which really slows the whole process.

BTW…I made it out of WOTA and I think that was part of the problem. It’s not a soft, smooth yarn. This whole thing might have gone easier with a better yarn. I nearly ran out of the blue so I had to put an extra stripe on one side.

That being said…it was easy to do once I figure it all out and it makes a nice warm hat! I didn’t take a pic with them separated, but here are the two hats. My DH loves it!

Wow, great colors, they are very pretty. Is WOTA scratchy?

I like it!!!

Thanks!

Bonnie: WOTA is 100% wool and it’s not real soft. It’s great for felting, but my DH isn’t sensitive to wool at all and he wanted a hat made out of it. I wouldn’t wear it next to my skin at all as I’m very sensitive.

OK, thanks. I think I’m just going to have to order some and check it out

awesome–I love the colors–I need to try one of these hats!

Looks great! I love your choice of colors!

Thanks! You are not going to believe this… I just found TWO more skeins of the blue in the bottom of my bin! I did NOT need to add that extra green stripe! ARgggg!!

Very nice hat. I’m sure you husband is going to love wearing it. ~ I agree about the WOTA being too scratchy for anyone with sensitive skin.

Looks great! With the Denises, I often find that I use a smaller circ length than recommended in the pattern, and it helps me.

Beautiful work! Fabulous colors!

Jan, the hat (or hats!) look perfect! I plan on trying a double hat one of these days…

 Great job on the hat it looks wonderful

luuhhhhhhhhvely hat!!!

You did a great job on the hat! Your husband is going to love it!

Cute! I love the colors – especially the way the blue and green look together!

Those are great!!!

My hubby wants me to make him a hat too and that is a nice pattern! I will have to show it to him.
