The scarf and the colours are so pretty. Good job
dangles your name rox!!
I used almost 2 skeins of double stranded Mountain Colors Bearfoot in Pheasant colorway on size 10 needles, 32 stitches. I’m a tight knitter so others might need a smaller needle. The baby cable rib is an old stitch pattern, I think, and I first saw it in Sensational Knitted Socks and also in Barbara Walker’s treasury.I added garter stitch borders and ends. It was fun to knit–not too boring but easy enough to do while watching TV.
The scarf is beautiful! My favorite colors, too, and it looks wonderful against the Heavenly Bamboo. I take it that you live in California? It’s been to cold here in Oregon for that type of thing, even though we do have greenery.
Have you thought about writing the pattern up? I think a lot of us would love to make a scarf like it.
Looks yummy! What a great idea - scarf that matches the socks.
I don’t remember the exact pattern but see my earlier post, #23. The baby cable rib part is just a variation of a 2x2 rib. When knit in the round, the cable happens every 4th row. If knitting end to end as for a scarf, it happens on the 5th row so it will be on the right side of the work. On this cable row, you knit the knit stitches K2 together without pulling them off the needle. Then reinsert the right needle between those two stitches, knit the right stitch, then pull them both off, creating a little twist. The next two stitches on the left needle will be ready to work as purls.
You did a wonderful job.
Very nice scarf! Good photo too.
