FO: Mini-Mochi stashbustin' scarf

Had one ball of Mini-Mochi yarn left…1.4 balls to be exact…and wanted to use it up. I love this colorway.

This scarf will be given to my daughter, Lauralee.

Anyway, that darn One-Row Lace Scarf pattern really comes in handy when you’ve only got one ball of yarn to work with! You can get quite a nice sized scarf out of one ball!

This particular ball of yarn was very disappointing: it had 2 obnoxious knots…so the colorway abruptly changed colors in those two places. Fortunately, the abrupt lane changes were about 6” from each end. Another aggravating thing about this particular ball of yarn: it was very irregular…becoming threadlike thin in places, and buko fat in other places. So you either had to keep knitting and suffer the irregularities, or cut the yarn to remove the thin/fat parts…but then you’d have to work a “Russian Join” because this yarn will not felt. Oy. I opted to keep knitting and suffer through the too thin, or too thick, places.

Anyhoo, here it is! And hereis my Ravelry project page, if you’d care to get more information about the design, which is a FREE pattern available through Rav.

Beautiful color changes and lovely combinations. (I hate knots in yarn. So often when you find one, there are others to follow.)

I hate when that happens. I thought it was only a problem with the cheapo yarns. Or hoped it was.

It’s a great colourway. This pattern is so versatile, isn’t it? I used the its variation (with only one knit stitch) for my ‘very second scarf’

Also, I love how you roll your scarves to take a picture.

Fantastic looking scarf! You must be just about out of stash and ready for a truck-load more of yarn, right?

I have one word that describes my stash situation: S.A.B.L.E.

Very cool! Great colors again.

Despite the issues you had, the scarf came out lovely! I know your daughter will treasure it!
