FO: Mini Lovehearts

Whilst I was wrapping up some Valentine’s Incense Gift Sets for my market stall, it occured to me that my new found knitting skills could surely come up with some kind of stall decoration for Valentine’s too…

I found this pattern: Hearts by Anna Hrachovec

And I slightly modified it to suit my needs. Again, not rocket science, another very simple project, but still…for a newbie, they knit up quickly.

One thing they did teach me, was that unyielding wool, 3mm needles and tiny stitches…results in sore fingers & muscle cramps:aww: :roflhard:

I knitted 20 in total, laid out flat, and sewed them up, back to back, in pairs to make a final count of 10.

Then I threaded them onto 12’ of some blue/glittery yarn that I bought out of a yarn discount bin, and strung them along the front of my market stall.
Lots of lovely comments about them from customers last weekend, so well worth the cramps and sore fingers. One more weekend as decorations, and then they’ll go in to the Valentine’s storage box for next year :muah:

OK,so they aren’t stitch-perfect by most KH-resident’s standards…but they are red, they’re heart-shaped, and I’m delighted with them.

Will try and get a pic of them actually on one of my stalls over the weekend

Great job!

But they look lavender to me! Hmm . . . I wonder why that is.

Anyway, that’s a really good idea–using your knitting skills to decorate. I would imagine you spent very little money on this decor, right?

Cute decoration idea! :yay:

Taken with crappy mobile phone…so colour is all wrong, sorry :aww: .
They’re not bright red, more like a wine/burgundy colour…definitely not lavender though:p

Indeed  Found a pattern for some cute little chicks, can’t remember where (either on here or Ravelry), so may do something similar for Easter.
And found a couple of shamrock options too…for St Patrick’s Day

Could really get in to this home-knitted stall-decoration lark :happydance:

What a cute idea! Can’t wait to see a pic of them strung up over your market stall!

I think your hearts are great!

They look wonderful!!!
