Whilst I was wrapping up some Valentine’s Incense Gift Sets for my market stall, it occured to me that my new found knitting skills could surely come up with some kind of stall decoration for Valentine’s too…
I found this pattern: Hearts by Anna Hrachovec
And I slightly modified it to suit my needs. Again, not rocket science, another very simple project, but still…for a newbie, they knit up quickly.
One thing they did teach me, was that unyielding wool, 3mm needles and tiny stitches…results in sore fingers & muscle cramps:aww: :roflhard:
I knitted 20 in total, laid out flat, and sewed them up, back to back, in pairs to make a final count of 10.
Then I threaded them onto 12’ of some blue/glittery yarn that I bought out of a yarn discount bin, and strung them along the front of my market stall.
Lots of lovely comments about them from customers last weekend, so well worth the cramps and sore fingers. One more weekend as decorations, and then they’ll go in to the Valentine’s storage box for next year
OK,so they aren’t stitch-perfect by most KH-resident’s standards…but they are red, they’re heart-shaped, and I’m delighted with them.
Will try and get a pic of them actually on one of my stalls over the weekend
