I wanted to use up some chunky yarn that I had so I used this free chunky cable purse pattern from knitpicks, modifying it quite a bit!! I stayed with the same cable pattern but I did it on a size 9 needle rather than 13, skipped the canvas lining, skipped the wooden purse handles and did i-cord in its place, and did one extra repeat of the cables. Then I did a single crochet of pink chunky yarn around the top and voila! I think it’s really cute and I plan to give it to a little girl that I babysit. It ended up being about 6" long by 4" wide. Perfect for a little girly girl!!

I was also going to mention…if anyone looks at this pattern and can make ANY SENSE out of the ‘bag bottom’ portion, let me know. It made no sense to me whatsoever so I had to kind of wing it.
Hey knit queen…you might want to search the threads b/c I swear someone just posted that they finished that same purse…about a week ago! maybe I’m confused…someone definately posted a link to the pattern b/c I looked at it.
I think it looks good! Great job!
Cuuuuute!!!

We got my little girly girl some purses for Christmas so that she can be just like Mama. She’s LOVE that! Very cute!

Thanks for sharing. Very cute purse. The cable stitch was one of the first
stitches i was interested in when i first learn how to knit.
Thanks everyone!
Oh, I love that! Nice work!
I love it! That’s my baby, I designed the pattern. I love how you’ve changed it to make it your own!
If any of you downloaded this pattern before yesterday, please go back and grab a new copy. There was an error in the directions for the bottom which we just fixed. And please keep sharing your bags! I would love to see them!
And, BTW, Angelia, are you the Angelia I know from the SBing world?
That’s good to know!! I had troubles with the bottom and winged that part, glad to know I wasn’t missing something!
Thanks for the nice little pattern!
I love it! And your I-cord is way better than the wooden handles!
